Autumn 2019

We're back! Our first bal of the autumn is on September 1st, and we've been lucky enough to book the renowned Kerry Fletcher, fresh from Sidmouth and Towersey, to teach the workshop. Kerry is a well-known performer and teacher of a range of traditional dances from Britain, America and Europe, as well as contemporary styles. Don't miss!

Our venue for all the bals is Watlington House, 44 Watlington Street, Reading, RG1 4RJ. They all run from 12-4pm, and the rest of our dates this year are as follows: October 6th November 10th (note - 2nd Sunday rather than 1st) December 1st

Every bal starts with a workshop from 12-1pm in which you can learn some European folk dances, most of which can be picked up right away. Then we have a bring-your-own-lunch indoor picnic, and the bal starts at 1.30 - 1.45. All the music is provided by our musicians, Shivelight Duo and friends, and you're welcome to bring an instrument and join in! If you're interested in learning the appropriate repertoire, we have a European Tunes Session in Reading, every first Thursday of the month. The next session is on Thursday, 5 September 2019 from 8.30 - 11pm, at The Butler, 85-91 Chatham St, RG1 7DS Reading.
